Release installation

Install CtxE.

One command installs the latest stable release on macOS, Linux, or Windows and prepares the current server-backed configuration.

One-line installer

Stable channel · the latest release for your platform.

curl -fsSL https://storage.ctxe.tlelabs.com/ctxe/latest/install.sh | sh

The installer fetches the current stable binary and creates the server-only global config when required.

After installation

5 commands

ctxe login
ctxe index /path/to/project --watch
ctxe daemon enable --now
ctxe daemon status
ctxe status /path/to/project

Fresh installs leave the indexing daemon disabled and stopped. --watch records durable watch intent only after the real index activates the workspace catalog; it does not start the service. ctxe daemon enable --now explicitly enables and starts it.

For a one-shot catalog-only workflow, run ctxe index /path/to/project. After a durable report, ctxe daemon watch /path/to/project records the same watch intent as the flag.

Before you begin

Local code, indexed deliberately.

Sign in after installation, then choose the workspace you want CtxE to index. Background watching remains disabled until you explicitly enable the daemon.
